Heather Balliet of Amorology Weddings is always coming up with such fabulous ideas! I'm always like how come I didn't think of that...it's marvelous! Well once again she paired one of my favorite things with a wedding (except this time it's just for a photo shoot and hasn't been fully tried out in real life yet...maybe you can make it happen): Breakfast for the Reception!
Sure people think of doing breakfast foods at a morning wedding because it usually saves a ton on the cost, but what Heather suggested was doing it at an evening reception. I grew up with my mom making breakfast for dinner quite often and even now we'll beg her to cook up some pancakes or strawberry waffles for dinner...so to me this was just fabulous! I can totally see it now...a down home reception in a family backyard with the finest of breakfast foods. Heather highlighted waffles with raspberries, croissants, eggs, and bacon, but anyone could customize this to include their specific favorites. In fact I saw a bridal shower photo just today with a stack of pancakes on each plate pre-set.
Oh the places you could go with this idea....think of the custom syrup bar you could feature or a bar of fresh fruit toppings, or what about the million garnishes for eggs (say different cheeses or spices/herbs/etc.)? I love what Robin Mathis of Twigg Botanicals did with the centerpieces, keeping them so lively and the perfect signwork by Courtney Scowby of Brightly Designed which ties it all together. They played on the egg as their theme (notice the cute egg print over the plates) but you could take this in so many different directions!

I just love it and hope you do too! Check the full post out HERE or see the spread in Exquisite Weddings Magazine.
